Safety Modeling

Duration: 3 Days | Lecture / Workshop

Participants learn basic to advanced safety modeling concepts and techniques, which can be universally applied in any industry or governmental entity worldwide. Safety-related risks and controls to improve efficiency on simple to complex system, processes and product designs will also be identified.

The overall objective is to learn how to identify management, engineering, and technical safety-related risks and to enhance risk management/controls to ensure acceptable risks, system safety and liability claims defense. Safety modeling concepts, terms and definitions, as well as overall safety modeling approaches from national and international industry and government are discussed in this course. Also discussed are various analysis methods and techniques to analyze systems, system accidents and system risks.

The workshop portion of this class is designed to provide hands-on training on our flagship Reliability software, ITEM ToolKit. The main emphasis is on how to utilize the software and its modules. Attendees learn how to start projects, and construct and analyze models in ITEM ToolKit software. Complete instructions on all relevant topics, from adding basic elements, to analyzing complex systems, viewing results and creating reports. The ITEM ToolKit modules featured in this course are FMECA, Fault Tree, and Event Tree. (Other modules are covered briefly as well.)
